Ignite Me is the final book in the Shatter Me series and I really didn’t like it.

I knew that romance was a big part of this story, but I didn’t think I would be reading a romance novel. I thought I would be reading a dystopian novel with romance being a big aspect of the story.

About 400 out of the 421 pages were all about either:
1. Adam freaking out about how Juliette isn’t in love with him anymore
2. Adam freaking out about how Juliette has gained confidence, strength, and independence
3. Adam freaking out about how Juliette doesn’t need him anymore
4. Warner not wanting to open up to Juliette
5. Warner wanting to open up to Juliette
6. Juliette trying to focus on overthrowing The Reestablishment
7. Juliette actually focusing on whether she should chose Warner or Adam

It was literally the same argument page after page after page and I just hated it. Either bring something new to the argument or get over it.

The ‘over-throwing’ of The Reestablishment happened in like 5 pages and then Juliette looked around and it was over. I kind of figured we wouldn’t get much of an ending so I was prepared but I was still disappointed.

The only good/redeeming quality of this book was Juliette’s growth. She realized that she doesn’t need a boyfriend to be strong and fierce and confident. But she ends up with one of them anyways.

I don’t think I would recommend this series anymore. It starts as a uniquely written YA dystopian but ends in the classic love triangle.
